Labrador puppies are a familiar breed of dogs. They are not only known to be very cute in looks, but they have an amazingly friendly nature which makes it a perfect family dog. Its attractive look is credited to the body type of labs basically.

Facts About The Body of a Labrador

Results show that typical male labs have weight in between 29 kg to 41 kg (64 to 90 lb). This however is quite different in females. They have weight about 25 to 32 kg which is equivalent to 55 to 71 lb. This dog is relatively large as compared to most of the breeds.

Height of labs is about 22-24 inches (56-61cm) if it's a male. In females, it could vary in between 21-23 inches (53-58cm).
Normally, these dogs like to play around every time which is why their body built is very good.

A Labrador is considered to be obese if its weight crosses 100 lb (45 kg) or even when its equal to it. These dogs could have serious health issues. However one can keep this issue under control since labs are such playful dogs. You can play with it for hours and it would not like to stop being obedient, fun loving and playful dog.

Also, labs are great swimmers which acts as another good exercise to keep the body in shape. In fact, labs are known to have a very attractive athletic body since they have a huge chest. Plus their ribs are generally in great shape. Their muzzle is quite wide and so is their powerful neck. Their body is longer than tall and the size of eyes is also large. Ear size is medium and their tail is known to be tapering at the tip. So this is all that you need to know about size of a Labrador retriever dog.
