The English Springer Spaniel was heavily used as a hunting dog during the Renaissance. It is the dog that many other English Spaniels originated from. It has been popular in the United States since the 18th century.

Temperament

The vast majority of English Springer Spaniels are friendly dogs that are excellent with children. They are intelligent and obedient, and can be trained easily.
