The Border Collie dog breed was developed in ancient time at Angelo-Scottish borders. One of the most clever, inquisitive, smart, quick, energetic and enthusiastic dog breed this is! Due to their quickness and lightning fast speeds, these dogs are frequently used in competitions.
There are many other names of this dog breed such as - Sheepdog, Scottish sheep dog etc. Though it was developed in Scottish borders but its basic origin was in the United Kingdom.
Appearance factors: Border Collie dogs are literally medium in size. With a medium amount of coat all over their body, they do possess a tremendous amount of energy/power for which they result to be one of the numbers ones in sports. Their coats come in many colors and the brightness/contrast varies from poor to rich/lush colors. They also may possess single color coats in times. Deep brown, amber blue etc. are most preferred eye color of these dogs. Due to the breed is basically a hybrid, the dogs of Border Collie

Border Collie Life span: average life span of a Border Collie is thought 13-16 years, though old aged dogs are very rare and almost unseen.
Border Collie Weight: most of the adult male dogs weigh about 30-45 pounds (14-20 kgs) & most of the female dogs weigh about 27-42 pounds (12-19 kgs).
Border Collie Height: the average height of a male Border Collie is 19-22 inches (48-56 cm) and the average height of a female Border Collie is 18-21 inches (46-53 cm.)
